Food for Thought

This is just too good not to share. Give Big City Bride a call and let us talk through your Chicago wedding planning with you. We have no doubt that you’ll understand that value of investing in a professional rather than trusting an amateur with a day you’ll never get back. We’d love to hear from you! 773-525-7526

Katherine + Timothy

It’s no secret that the Chicago Cultural Center is a favorite Chicago wedding venue. It is however a secret that the venue can be transformed into any style you want. Katie & Tim wanted warm and rustic and they absolutely got just that! With warm fall tones, branches, farm tables, sequin runners, textured linens and uplights this wedding was unforgettable. We loved the pops of red in the groom and groomsmen’s handkercheifs and ties. Such a subtle and creative way to tie in the colors of the wedding!

How fun is this custom sign that Katherine and Timonthy had made for cocktail hour? The sign lists the bride and grooms signature drink as well as the beer, wine, and liquor list!

One of our favorite parts of Katherine and Timothy’s wedding was the adorable sweets table. There were cake pops, ombre macaroons, cakes in mason jars, chocolate covered fruits. The stunning table was the focal point for the couple’s custom made wooden cake stand with their initials. The glittery succulents and sparkle chevron linen made this an enchanting sweets table that the guests had a hard time staying away from!

This spectacular wedding was topped off with a surprise Michael Jackson flash mob done by the bride and grooms family and friends! The Chicago Cultural Center was the ideal venue for this warm and inviting fall wedding! Congratultions Katherine and Timothy! We are so happy we could be a part of your special day.

Betsy & Josh: A Lemony Fresh Wedding

Betsy & Josh’s wedding at the Chicago History Museum was fresh and fun. On June 20, 2013 Chicago experienced a beautiful signature wedding with gorgeous yellow, grey, black, and white details. I Do Films was able to capture a glimspe of the magic we were able to see on this beautiful day!

It was a perfect summer day in Chicago. The sun was shining down on the Chicago History Museum’s patio for an intimate outdoor ceremony. Guests were able to sip on their choice of assorted infused water and use their personal program fan to stay cool.

Our fun and trendy couple  selected one of a kind lounge furniture and chose a buffet styled dinner creating a truly unique and welcoming wedding. Guests were able to sit, chat and enjoy comfortable seating accented with stunning colored pillows.

The details that made up this wedding created a breathtaking room! Gorgeous black, white, and striped linens layed on each table accented with a pop of yellow floral. The fabulous mirror topped bar stood in the center of the room and caught the eye every guest. One of the most unique attributes to the wedding dcor was the centerpiece of the bar. It was a beautiful arrangment of bright yellow lemons.

For dessert Betsy & Josh decided a tower of cupcakes and a mini cake would be the best option. Delicious chocolate and vanilla cupcakes and cupcake minis were served for dessert.

It was a truly special night and Big City Bride was so happy to be apart of Betsy & Josh’s special day! Wedding planner Chrissy Maggliano brought their cheerful vision to life. Scroll through and experience this bright and lovely wedding.

What an honor to plan the beloved Chicago News Anchor, Carol Marin, son’s wedding!!

The Knot Best of Weddings “Hall of Fame”

It’s a very exciting thing to announce our HALL OF FAME award from “the Knot” magazine. Every year that we are honored with the Knot’s “best of weddings” award we are thrilled beyond words. This magazine works year-round all over the country to provide useful wedding guides for the local bride. They find and feature incredible real weddings that represent all styles and all budgets…showcasing each with a beautiful display of wedding photos. Needless to say it is an honor to be included in their Hall of Fame of Chicago wedding vendors!

Melissa & Larrell

It may be 2014, but we are still in love with some of our 2013 weddings… without a doubt Melissa and Larrell’s is one of them! The happy couple was married on a wonderfully winter day on December 29, 2013 at Assumption Church and River East Art Center. So many smiles, laughs and hugs were shared that day as two families united.

Riverbend Studio captured all these special moments and stunning decor by Kehoe Designs, that wowed guests as they entered into the transformed venue. Lavish linens, lush floral and candlelight created beautiful tablescapes where guests wined and dined delicious food from Food for Thought Catering. After dinner, guests made their way to the dancefloor to really start the celebration…and they knew how to celebrate!

We love this wedding so much, we couldn’t help but share this amazing day!

Melissa and Larrell’s wedding day was a day we will never forget. Such special moments were shared and we couldn’t have been more happy to be part of this amazing day! Congrats again Melissa and Larrell!

Arriving to a hotel in an unfamiliar city can be exhausting, especially on gloomy winter days. Brighten up your guests’ stay with a cheerful winter welcome bag! With a few winter-specific tweaks, your guests will feel ready to conquer the city!

Use your welcome letter to include your favorite boutiques, restaurants, bars, nearby sites, museums and the closest drugstore to the hotel. Also include the crucial information such as the time of your ceremony and reception and the location of your Chicago wedding venue.
